Alan Wilkinson, president of Marmon Distribution Services, has announced several promotions and organizational changes at the pipe and tubing distributor Marmon/Keystone.
National marketing manager Ron Lenhart has been promoted to vice president commercial at the Butler corporate office, effective March 1. His new responsibilities will include purchasing, marketing of carbon products and value added services.
Lenhart, who has been with the company for 22 years, got his bachelor's in marketing from Slippery Rock University. He and his wife, Carol, live in Butler, and have three daughters.
Also effective March 1, vice president sales and marketing Ken Sichelski has been named senior vice president sales and marketing.Located at the company's Bolinbgrook, Ill., office, Sichelski has served in sales and management positions since joining Marmon/Keystone in 1973.Regional Vice President Barry Glaser will assume oversight of Marmon/Keystone Mexico's operations starting April 1.Based in the Los Angeles service center, Glaser is also responsible for eight locations in the Western United States. He has been with the company since 1984.Upon Marmon/Keystone president J.T. “Tim” Spatafore's retirement on March 31, all of the company's vice presidents will report to Wilkinson.Marmon/Keystone is wholesale distributor of tubular products.
CRANBERRY TWP — Vantage Healthcare has expanded its Infusions Therapy Services in the Pittsburgh region with a new office at 2009 Mackenzie Way, Suite 100.It has offices in Monroeville, One Oxford Center and Foster Plaza.Its Home Infusion Services serve patients who need intravenous medication treatment in their homes. This division operates a compounding pharmacy where medications are prepared, including pain management, antibiotic, inotropic (cardiac) and nutritional therapies.Vantage is a for-profit corporation whose partners include LECOM and many nonprofit hospitals in northwestern Pennsylvania. Its headquarters is in Meadville.
HERSHEY — Reed Soergel has been named the 2013 Grower of the Year by the State Horticultural Association of Pennsylvania.Soergel received the award for the growth of Soergel Orchards in Wexford and for his service to the association. He received the award at the Mid-Atlantic Fruit & Vegetable Convention in Hershey in January.Soergel said, “While I may have received the award, this is really a recognition of the work of so many people to help Soergel Orchards become what it is today. We have 16 family members and, at times, more than 130 employees, working on our farms and in our market to serve our customers.”Over 50 years, Soergel Orchards has grown from a roadside produce stand to a top farm market in Pennsylvania.Founded in the 1850s, Soergel Orchards now grows more than 70 varieties of vegetables and 30 types of apples on nearly 500 acres in northern Allegheny and southern Butler counties.Reed Soergel is a member of the Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association, a director on the Pennsylvania Apple Marketing Board, a board member of Farmers Mutual Insurance, and a board member of the State Horticultural Association of Pennsylvania.He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
CRANBERRY TWP — A Florida-based pizza company has opened a restaurant in the township.Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza opened Monday at 2045 Mackenzie Way, making it the 44th location in the nation and the fourth in Greater Pittsburgh.Anthony Bruno, founder and CEO of Anthony's, said Cranberry met the company's demographics.“We are doing very well up there,” Bruno said. “We were welcomed with open arms, and we are very happy to be there.”Bruno said the coal-fired pizza ovens are heated to about 850 degrees and the pizzas take about four to five minutes to cook.The new location employs 50 people.Dan Marino, Pittsburgh native and NFL Hall of Fame member, is a partner of the company.
WEST MIDDLESEX — Flynn's Tire Wholesale has opened an order processing call center in its corporate office here.This high-tech facility is designed to provide better service to all of Flynn's wholesale accounts.It has a retail store on Main Street in Butler.Established in 1964, Flynn's Tire Group is a regional tire wholesaler that is a family owned business operated by the Flynn family in Mercer County.
HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in February awarded nearly $1 million in grants to help 134 small businesses, including three in Butler County, invest in energy-efficiency or pollution-prevention projects.Those Butler County businesses are Gregory P.
