ERIE — Butler graduate Joey Deemer, a junior finance major on the Gannon University swim team, has been selected the PSAC’s Men’s Swimming Scholar of the Year.

Deemer and his brother, Alex, an engineering freshman, both swim for Gannon. Both Deemers competed in all the same races this week at the PSAC Swimming Championships in York. Those events were the 200 free, 500, 1,000 and the mile.

For those events, Alex placed 10th, 9th, 5th and 3rd. Joey placed 11th, 10th, 9th and 7th. Both men also swam as part of the Gannon 800 relay, taking first place in the meet.
