PITTSBURGH — A former prison guard accused of sexually assaulting an Evans City woman in the Allegheny County Jail had his case held for court Tuesday after a preliminary hearing.

Charles Walker, 39, has been charged by Allegheny County police with aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, institutional sexual assault, sexual assault. Prosecutors also added a charge of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse at the preliminary hearing.

The charges stem from allegations made by Shanea Climo, 24, who claimed she was sexually attacked by Walker while was in the jail serving a 2-year sentence.

Climo's sentence stemmed from an accident in 2008 in which the ambulance she was driving ran a red light and slammed into a car, killing its two occupants. She pleaded guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The Butler Eagle generally does not identify victims of sexual assaults, but Climo previously said she wants her story told so this kind of ordeal doesn't happen to other inmates.

She testified today at Walker's preliminary hearing that he had sexually assaulted her twice in the jail's gymnasium and followed later by a third assault at a nurse's station.
