Medication take back event planned
Butler Township Police, in collaboration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, is holding a drug take back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Walmart in Butler Commons.
The event will provide the public the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
Liquid products should remain in their original containers with the lid tightly sealed. Intra-venous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted due to potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Those disposing of vape pens or other e-cigarette devices should remove the batteries.
