Kids Fun Day attracts 250
Children stand Sunday inside hula hoops and throw water balloons at each other during Kids Day festivities at Butler´s Rotary Park. Action in Recovery hosted the event.
There were hot dogs, games and water balloons Sunday in Butler's Rotary Park.
About 250 people attended the Kids Fun Day event hosted by Action in Recovery, according to Jason Beckwith, the organization's founder.
“The (kids) are having a good time,” Beckwith said. “We're trying to give them ideas of healthier activities.”
The children gathered at various stations, including booth games, cornhole and basketball among others. Each person attending the event received a free hot dog. A number of people in yellow volunteer shirts helped keep the children having fun.
“There's 50 volunteers from Action in Recovery, and it's not just people in recovery,” Beckwith said.
