Margaret A. Woitas
Margaret A. Woitas, 88, of Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, passed away Thursday peacefully at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.
Margaret was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Lucesco, Pa. She was daughter of the late Margaret (Henry) and Howard M. Ross. She was the widow of John Woitas, who died in 2012.
Margaret was an active member of the Allegheny Presbyterian Church in Allegheny Township. She was always involved in many of the church’s activities. She had been a youth group leader and past elder and deacon. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and loved spending time and feeding her big family.
Margaret is survived by her sons, John H. (Jane) Woitas of Jefferson Township, Thomas L. (Patty) Woitas of Allegheny Township, Timothy L. (Pam) Woitas of Plum and Terry M. Woitas of South Buffalo Township; her grandchildren, Shelly (John) Swartz, Kelly (Sean) Campman, Sean (Ashley Karcher) Woitas, Kari (Brian) DiGirolamo, Timothy Woitas, Nicole (Kory) Micholas, Michael Woitas, Danielle Woitas, Brian Mehal and Jeremiah (Jessica) Mehal Sr.; her great-grandchildren, Shawna, Shannon and Sharyn Sefton, Chancellor and Tierney Woitas, Eva and Ela Grace Champman; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Jeremiah Mehal Jr., Hunter Mehal and Avrael Karcher.
Margaret is also survived by her brother, Charles Ross of Saxonburg; and her sister, Patricia Baker of North Apollo.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Woitas; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Woitas; her brothers, Floyd and Howard Ross; and her sister, Betty Stack.
The Woitas family would like to thank the great people at Shelbourne Personal Care in Butler and Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot for the exceptional care they gave to Margaret.
WOITAS — Family and friends of Margaret A. Woitas, who died Thursday, February 23, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME in Freeport.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Allegheny Presbyterian Church in Allegheny Township with the Rev. Lloyd Riggle, lay pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at the Brookland Cemetery in Allegheny Township.
