Motorcyclist hurt in crash

A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital following a one-vehicle accident on South Benbrook Road in Center Township on Sunday.

CENTER TWP — Emergency crews responded to a motorcycle crash Sunday on South Benbrook Road in Center Township.

The motorcycle was the sole vehicle involved in the crash, which happened around 5 p.m. Sunday on the 100 block of South Benbrook Road, according to state police investigating at the scene.

Unionville firefighters said they performed CPR on the male driver, who regained consciousness about a minute after they began.

According to correspondence with Butler County 911 dispatchers, a medical helicopter landed in a nearby field and took the man to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

In addition to Unionville, West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department and Butler Ambulance were dispatched to the scene to assist with on-scene treatment and traffic control.

A portion of Route 8 was closed while the patient was being picked up by helicopter.
