Gary T. Capella

Gary T. Capella, 79, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, passed away on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

Born Sept. 16, 1942, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Thomas Capella and Elva Johnston Capella.

Gary earned his bachelor's degree in education from Geneva College.

He taught history for Seneca Valley High School for 35 years.

Gary was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and painting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Sheli (Scott) Grosick and Lisa (Joseph) McCombs, both of Evans City; and his grandchildren, Shayla English, Shaunna Grosick, Shayne Grosick, Payton McCombs, Baylee Chestnut and Kenzie McCombs. He was formerly married to Patricia Schoeffel Capella.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Saundra Mullner, and his brother-in-law, Frederick Mullner.

CAPELLA — A friends and family gathering for Gary T. Capella, who died Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. Monday at Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
