Traffic stop nets suspected heroin

A traffic stop Tuesday morning in Butler netted more than 300 stamp bags of suspected heroin, other drug contraband and a loaded handgun, authorities said.

State police stopped Darnell L. Glenn Jr., 30, of Pittsburgh at about 11:30 a.m. on Virginia Avenue for driving a car with a broken taillight.

Officers a short time later arrested his passenger, Amanda L. Cypher, 32, of Butler Township, when they learned she was wanted on a felony warrant for allegedly stealing a car last month.

A search of Cypher’s purse, police said, turned up numerous empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and other drug paraphernalia.

While at Glenn’s car, a 2002 Cadillac STS, police noticed what appeared to be a small amount of marijuana.

A full report appears in the Butler Eagle.
