[naviga:h3]SRU catcher Sibeto earns PSAC honor[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior catcher Joe Sibeto has been named PSAC Baseball Champion Scholar for the 2020 season, the league office announced Tuesday.

Sibeto maintained a 4.0 grade point average and will graduate from SRU with a degree in criminology. He plans to attend law school.

Prior to the cancellation of the 2020 season, Sibeto was hitting .286 in helping The Rock get off to a 7-3 start. He is the 12th SRU student-athlete to receive the award since the program was instituted in 2011-12.

[naviga:h3]Shooting ranges starting to reopen[/naviga:h3]

The Pennsylvania Game Commission has announced that shooting ranges on state game lands will reopen Friday in counties upgraded to the “yellow phase.”

Bradford, Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Crawford, Erie, Jefferson, Mercer and Venango counties are among those who may reopen ranges.

Butler County shooting ranges will remain closed.
