Darling

Milton R. “Butch” Darling, 85, of Boyers, passed away at home on Tuesday evening, Jan. 25, 2022, following an illness since November.

Butch was born in Saxonburg, on April 18, 1936, to Victor and Irene (Vogley) Darling.

He married Dolores Ann Watkins on May 18, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1990. Butch later married Janet E. Rhodes Kirby on Aug. 17, 1991.

Butch grew up in Marwood, Butler County. He graduated in 1955 from the former Winfield High School in Winfield Township.

Butch retired as a union truck driver with Teamsters Union 538. He drove for many years for Penn-Dixie, and Wayne W. Sell Trucking.

He enjoyed rebuilding and restoring pool tables.

Butch was a member of the F&AM Lodge 272, Butler.

Butch is survived by his wife, Janet, at home; two sons, Daniel R. (Melissa) Darling and Ashley W. Darling; three stepdaughters, Gwendolyn Warner, Gail Shealy and Geri Garner; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Clowes.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, Butch was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Macurdy; and two brothers, Robert and James Darling.

DARLING — Visitation hours for Milton R. “Butch” Darling, who died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Monday at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Saxonburg Cemetery, Saxonburg.
