Butler County has been placed under a flood advisory through 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh.

The advisory went into effect at 3:26 p.m. due to heavy rain that could cause “minor flooding.”

According to the advisory, one inch of rain has already fallen since the storm began.

The county was already placed under a hazardous weather outlook at 3 p.m. for strong gusts of wind and heavy rainfall.

“Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads,” the advisory said. “Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.”

Armstrong, Clarion, Indiana and Westmoreland counties are also under a tornado watch, but Butler County is not for the time being.
