Titan trio joins all-decade teams
NEW WILMINGTON
— Freeport native Morgan Carmelo, Karns City graduate Matt Slagle and Knoch product Abbey Gore have been named to the all-decade cross country teams at Westminster College.
Carmelo is a graduate of Saint Joseph High School in Natrona Heights. She was an All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference runner for the Titans’ women’s cross country team in 2017, placed second at the PAC meet and holds the school record in the 6k with a time of 22 minutes, 46 seconds.
Slagle, a Bruin native, had one of the top two Westminster times in all three PAC championship meets he competed in. His personal-best time of 27 minutes, 24 seconds occurred at the 2016 NCAA Regionals.
Gore, a Renfrew native, was a two-time allconference selection as a defender for Westminster’s women’s soccer team and earned all-region accolades in 2014.
