COLUMBIANA, Ohio - A family craft festival is celebrating its 28th year with three weekends of events: Aug. 14 and 15, 21 and 22 and 28 and 29. SLIPPERY ROCK — For the third year in a row, Slippery Rock University's theater department will present an original play by SRU theater professor David Skeele at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland.This year, the department will stage "Deepchurch Hollow," a thriller that relates the tale of Alice Deepchurch, who was locked for hours in a hidden room deep inside her home. PITTSBURGH — The Senator John Heinz History Center has extended the world-premier of the "Discover the Real George Washington: New Views from Mount Vernon" exhibition through Aug. 1.The exhibition from the Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens features nearly 100 objects, including full-scale figures of Washington, decorative and fine art items, architectural models, maps, manuscripts and paintings.The center is the first stop of a nine-city national tour for the exhibit.Center hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
