Auditions abound for future shows

The Musical Theatre Guild of Butler’s 50th anniversary production will be “South Pacific.” Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Auditions, which are for those age 14 and older, will take place at the William A. Lehnerd Production Center in the rear of Butler Memorial Park.

The show will be directed by Larry Stock with musical direction by John Cooper and choreography by Buddy Thompson.

Singing and nonsinging roles are available. Songs include “Younger Than Springtime,” “Bali Ha’i,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair,” and “Some Enchanted Evening.” Audition materials and accompaniment will be provided.

Show dates are April 27, 28 and 29 at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

• The Carnegie Performing Arts Center will hold auditions for the ballet “The Little Mermaid” on Saturday at the center’s studios, 150 E. Main St. in Carnegie. Auditions for those age 5 to 12 will be at 1 p.m. and for those age 13 and older at 2 p.m.

Show dates are March 23, 24 and 25.

• The Franklin Civic Operetta Association will host auditions for “Titanic” for those age 5 and older at 1 p.m. Jan. 28 and at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Barrow Civic Theatre, 1223 Liberty St., Franklin.
