Teen felon behind bars for handgun, suspected heroin
A teenage felon is behind bars on six-figure bond after state police say they found him with a handgun that had an obliterated serial number and nearly a “brick” of suspected heroin in Butler Township.
Troopers deployed a Taser around 5:30 p.m. Saturday before arresting 19-year-old Zahvair D. Palmer of McKeesport, Allegheny County, authorities said.
Palmer is facing felony drug and weapons charges. He is in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond.
Police said while conducting an apparent traffic-related investigation at the Sheetz parking lot on Route 8 north and Vogel Road, they smelled marijuana coming from his car.
