Butler County Commissioner Kevin Boozel has been named to the state Geospatial Coordinating Board by Gov. Tom Wolf.

County Judge Michael Yeager on Tuesday administered the oath of office to Boozel.

Among the tasks of the “GeoBoard” are gathering and providing data for maps with the goal of improving governmental operations as well as business in various industries.

The GeoBoard is also important for security reasons, as members determine the information that should or should not be disseminated publicly.

In order to help contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, state Sen. Access to all buildings and facilities on Butler County Community College's main campus and at its additional locations is immediately closed to students, faculty, nonessential staff and the public until further notice in compliance with a statewide directive by Gov.
