Thanksgiving Early

Amber Shay, 10, works alongside her aunt, Evelyn Bergbigler, during St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church's annual fundraiser Sunday. According to parishioners, the church serves approximately 1,500 people each year. The church's famous cole slaw requires four cases of cabbage, 10 pounds of carrots, 30 stalks of celery, and 60 pounds of onions to make. The turkey dinner serves up 1,500 pounds of turkey, 200 loaves of bread to make the stuffing, 90 loaves of fresh bread, as well as 100 donated pies, 70 cakes and an undetermined amount of potatoes.
