HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania hunters took 4,653 black bears this past fall, setting a state record bear harvest.

The state’s previous record was 4,350, set in 2011. There were 3,153 bears harvested in Pa. in 2018.

Lycoming County led the state with 284 bears harvested. There were 44 bears harvested in Butler County, compared to 26 in 2018.

EK football camp

The EK Football Camp will be in its 25th year this summer. The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 8-11 in Richland Community Park.
