[naviga:h3]Part of Meridian Rd. to close Monday[/naviga:h3]

Meridian Road in Penn Township will close Thursday for a pipe replacement project, state transportation officials said Wednesday.

The road will close from its intersection with Brownsdale Road to the intersection with Renfrew Road. A detour using Renfrew Road and Brownsdale Road will be posted.

The affected section of Meridian Road will only be open to local traffic and emergency vehicles. It is expected to reopen July 20.

The last day to pay Butler real estate taxes at face value is Monday, either by mail that is postmarked by June 30 and received by Monday, or by paying in person. The window closes at 4:30 p.m.
