SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock Borough Council members want to add more police officers to the force.

Chief Terry Fedokovitz said Tuesday he would need more officers to provide better coverage of the borough. The Slippery Rock Police Department has four full-time officers at this time.

Council member Royce Lorentz said he favored hiring part-time officers. He said he would like to hire at least one part-time officer as soon as possible.

“In order to enhance the scheduled coverage,” Lorentz said. “I think we should go ahead and get a part-timer as early as we can. I think we should start the process fairly soon.”
