Mars marching band hosts family, friends
The Mars Area High School Marching Band will host a Family & Friends Night on Oct. 24 at Mars Athletic Complex.
The marching band will offer two separate performances of its halftime show, themed “The Greatest Show,” at 5:15 and 6:30 p.m. The gates will open 15 minutes prior to each show time.
Senior Alex Smith and junior Evan Rojas (drum majors) will lead the band as it performs selections from the 2017 musical film “The Greatest Showman.” This includes “The Greatest Show,” “A Million Dreams,” “From Now On” and “This is Me.”
The band will also share information about its season and highlight seniors, including Teresa Donaldson (flute), Carly King (oboe) and Jackson Olinger (flugelhorn), all of whom perform solos in this year's show.
The Family & Friends Night is open to the public. In order to comply with current social distancing guidelines, those planning to attend must sign up in advance online at https://signup.com/go/qedLZpR.
All spectators are reminded that face coverings and social distancing are required at all times within Mars Athletic Complex.
