Kelly Burris DaSilva
Kelly Burris DaSilva, 51, of Encinitas, Calif., died May 12, 2021, of complications following angiography.
Born in Butler, she was the daughter of Sheila (Bob) Gealey of Butler, and John (Pat) Burris of Venice, Fla.
Kelly received her B.A. in English from Penn State University, and an M.A. in education from Duquesne University.
Kelly had lived in California for over 20 years. She served as a senior staff IT manager at Qualcomm in San Diego, Calif. She also served as president of the Paul Ecke Central Elementary School PTA, ways and means coordinator for Oak Crest Middle School Parent Foundation, and as a mentor for Big Sisters.
Kelly was a strong advocate for public education and equity for the underserved. She also was an avid music lover, and was known for her infectious wit, beautiful smile and her kind, compassionate spirit. Kelly was a giver in life and in death, as she was an organ donor.
Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband, Jimmy; her two sons, Logan and Nash; her sister, Deanna (Kish) Khemani; her brother, Jason (Crystal); her stepsister, Meg (Todd) Young; and her stepbrother, Bill (Annie) Gealey.
