Firefighters and emergency responders rushed this morning to a house on Route 68 in Zelienople to find its basement filled with black smoke after an oil furnace malfunctioned.

Firefighters responded at 5:55 a.m. to a report of a possible fire at 727 W. Beaver Street but found only smoke.There was no fire and no one was injured in the incident, according to Scott Garing, Harmony Fire District Chief.

Responders are no longer on the scene and traffic was unimpeded.
