Irene Selzer

Selzer

Irene “Rene” Mary Scholz Selzer, 87, of Middlesex Township, formerly of Saxonburg, left to be with our Lord on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, surrounded by her beloved family.

Born on May 16, 1934, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Lamar) Scholz.

She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church, and a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cabot.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, James “Jimmy” Selzer; her granddaughter, Brandi Tabisz; her sisters, Jean Fallon, Agnes Shipley Donaldson, Sally Werling Brown, Edna Callahan and Helen Perl; and her brothers, Joseph, Robert and James Scholz.

She was survived by her children, Susan (Rick) Crampton, Diane (Joe) Sikorski, Tim (Linda) Selzer, Mary Lou (Tim Tabisz), Nancy (Rob) Klein, Don (Liz) Selzer and Steve (Linda) Selzer.

She was beloved “Gram” to Mike (Halee) and Adam (Jenn) Sikorski, Andy (Angela), Brooke and Becky Crampton, Jeremiah (Dawn) and Tammy (Ryan McCleaster) Selzer, Tim (Karilyn) and Greg Tabisz, Hayleigh Tabisz (Tristan) Hawkins, Kyle (Casey) and Abby Klein, Justin and Cody Selzer, and Matthew and Joshua Selzer.

She was beloved “Gigi” to Sloan, Nova, Mylee, Gavin, Kallin, Logan, Grace, Annabelle, AJ, Harrison, Henry, Leila, Mila, Baby K, Luka, Brayden and Aspen.

She is also survived by two sisters, Gerry (Ron) Matt and Liz (Steve) Leach; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Rene enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing cards, and was quite the humorous prankster. Above all, her legacy is a love for God and family. She was happiest when she was busy doing something with or for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved entertaining her family, especially at their camp, and was always ready to host a crowd at a moment’s notice!

Rest in peace, Mom, we’ve got it from here.
