Shirley Ann Hignet

Shirley Ann Hignet, 84, of Mars, formerly of Gibsonia, died Friday morning at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars with her family at her side.

Born in Pittsburgh on Sept. 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Maria Weaver Hoffman.

Shirley was the executive director for Irene Stacy in Butler.

She was a member of the Mars Women's Club and was a Catholic.

Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne Hignet of Mars; her grandchildren, Callie Hopper Kaczmarek, Megan Hignet, Angelina Holben and Bethany Street; her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher Kaczmarek and Grant Holben and her nephews, Donald and David Borneman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley W. Hignet, who she married on Nov. 26, 1954, and who died on Feb. 6, 1988; her daughter, Rebecca Street; her sister, Marjorie Borneman, and her brother, Lawrence Hoffman.

HIGNET — Friends of Shirley Ann Hignet, who passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating.

Entombment will be in Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland Township.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
