In Brief
The public is invited to view plans on the state Department of Transportation’s plans for Ekastown Road in Clinton and Buffalo townships.
The online-only presentation will be available Feb. 16 through March 9 by visiting PennDOT.gov/District 10, then clicking on “Public meetings/studies” under the District Links heading.
A form will be available on the project page for those with comments or concerns.
The $8.3 million project will see Route 228 East, also known as Ekastown Road, resurfaced, restored and rehabilitated from the roundabout at Saxonburg Boulevard to 300 feet north of Sarver Road.
The curves in that section will be straightened and improvements will be made to drainage, signage and pavement markings.
The road in that section will be widened from 10- to 11-foot lanes and from 3- to 4-foot shoulders.
Traffic during construction, which is anticipated during the spring and summer 2023, will consist of flaggers, one-way detours and a potential weekend detour.
