4 face charges for allegedly selling meth

A few controlled buys led investigators to charge four people allegedly involved with a meth trafficking ring that appeared to be operating in Butler.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office filed charges Wednesday against the four people believed to be involved in a meth ring operating out of a home at 200 Kaufman Ave. in Butler.

Dylan M. Austin, 22, of Butler; Jonathan D. Hudson, 35, of Meadville; April L. Hall, 39, of Vandergrift; and Aaron W. Stephens, 22, of Knox, were each charged with a combination of felony drug sales and misdemeanor drug possession.

According to court records, Hall is the only one of the four who has been arrested, with the others having active warrants. Hall was arraigned Wednesday by District Judge William Fullerton, and she was placed in Butler County Prison on $75,000 bond.

Police were conducting an investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in spring, said investigators in the affidavit.

Investigators said charges have come from two controlled buys using a confidential informant.

According to investigators, the informant first met the defendants on two different occasions in May, buying one ounce of meth for about $850 on one occasion and a smaller amount on a different day.

Investigators said they witnessed interactions between Hudson, Stephens and Hall during the controlled buys, and Austin's involvement was noted by one of the alleged dealers during a recorded interview.

Hall has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 15 before Fullerton.
