CHICORA — Christian leaders from various churches in the Petroleum Valley are working together to stage another Community Family Fun Day with a Purpose from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at Chicora Park, Route 68.

There will be live music, featured speakers, children’s games and toys, free food and drink, plus an auction (five free tickets for each registered guest).

The day has a purpose as in previous years: to build community, to encourage a drug-free lifestyle and to honor our first responders, military and medical personnel all centered on an overall theme of hope.
