FORT MYERS, Fla. — Mars graduate David Bednar continued his run of scoreless innings Tuesday during the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 4-2 Grapefruit League victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Bidding to make the Pirate roster as a relief pitcher, Bednar struck out one while working a scoreless sixth inning. He is unscored upon in six appearances in spring training, striking out 11 and allowing only two hits.
