Marie Pensko

Marie Margaret Pensko, 94, of Concordia of Cabot, where she has lived for six years, formerly of Butler and Point Marion, Pa., died Friday morning at Concordia.

Born May 8, 1922, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Eleanor Fisher Skinner.

She had worked at Meadow Gold Dairy, where she met and married Michael Pensko, who died in 1986. She also worked as a waitress, and she and Mike owned Mike and Margie’s Lounge at Morris Crossroads in Fayette County for 17 years. She then moved to Butler County.

Marie was very much a people person and always had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed needlework and jigsaw puzzles until her fingers would no longer permit her to do so. She enjoyed bingo and all of the wonderful activities Concordia provided. She was an avid Elvis fan. She was a member and past president of the Forty + Eight Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Eleanor (David) Hackett and Sylvia (Michael) Pensko; one son, Edward (Krista) Kuhl; one stepdaughter, Sandra (Fran) Polivka; two stepsons, Michael (Sylvia) Pensko and David Pensko; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dolores Krapp, Leona Binder and Beatrice Cricks; and by two brothers, Louis and Delbert Skinner.

PENSKO — Friends of Marie Margaret Pensko, who died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

A blessing service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in McKees Rocks.
