Troopers shoot man who fired a rifle at them
LETTERKENNY (AP) — State Police say troopers in southern Pennsylvania shot and wounded a man who fired at them, striking a trooper in the leg.
They said Larry Richard Woodall, 43, was flown to Hershey Medical Center after the shooting around 8:30 p.m. in Letterkenny Township, Franklin County. His condition was not immediately known.
Police said Woodall fired at the troopers, striking one in the right leg. Police say troopers returned fire, striking Woodall.
The wounded trooper was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and released.
