Flood's anniversary

For many, it's hard to believe the devastating flood that hit Bradys Bend was 40 years ago today.
For others who were affected, it seems like yesterday.
Two neighbors in the Bradys Bend neighborhood have recounted the fear, chaos, sorrow and acts of incredible kindness that resulted from the quickly rising waters, which tore down houses, swept cars into the Allegheny River and killed nine people.
Their incredible stories will be featured in the Sunday Butler Eagle, along with pictures of the devastation that were published in the Eagle for several days in mid-August 1980.
