East Brady man dies in crash on Route 68 near Armstrong County line
FAIRVIEW TWP — A former Butler County man was killed Thursday morning when his car crashed and rolled on Route 68 about one-half mile west of the Armstrong County line, state police said.
Paul W. Stewart, 48, of East Brady died instantly in the crash at 9:25 a.m., according to authorities.
Butler County Coroner William Young III pronounced Stewart dead at the scene of massive chest injuries. No autopsy was conducted.
Investigators said Stewart, a registered nurse who recently lived in Cranberry Township, was traveling west when he lost control of his 2008 Nissan sedan while rounding a curve about a mile or so east of Kepples Corners.
The car crossed into the opposite lane and went off the north side of the road, hitting an embankment.
The car, after hitting the embankment, rolled over several times, landing on its roof back on road, police said. Stewart was not wearing a seat belt.
