Mount Alto branch of PSU briefly locked down
MOUNT ALTO, Pa. — State police said the public wasn't in danger when reports about a rifle-carrying man wearing camouflage and a blaze-orange cap caused authorities to briefly lock down the campus of Penn State-Mount Alto.
Trooper Thomas Pinkerton said today troopers contacted the man, who told them he got lost while walking in a nearby park and knocked on some doors trying to get directions.
All buildings on the 1,300-student campus were locked as a result.
Pinkerton said no crime was committed.
The campus reopened shortly before 3 p.m.
