Rep. Joe Steighner

The public is invited to remember the late state Rep. Joe Steighner at a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Butler.

Steighner, 69, died on Aug. 11, 2020 at his home after a brief battle with cancer.

Steighner was a Butler High School graduate and attended Butler County Community College and Slippery Rock University.

He remains the youngest person to hold the 11th legislative district seat, and set records for the most votes and widest margin of victory when he was elected in 1978.
