Neighbors talk about late night shooting
A series of shots rang out overnight Thursday on North Sixth Avenue between West Penn and Woods streets.
Butler police aren't talking. Neighbors are.
“It's made me very nervous,” said Candace Boulanger, who heard the shots outside her window about 10:30 p.m.
“I heard these pop, pop, pop, pops,” she said.
Boulanger's account was similar to those of several other neighbors, who did not want to give their names. They described hearing four or five shots.
Neighbors also reported hearing a woman's screams after the gunfire. They couldn't make out for certain what she was saying.
“I saw three girls and a guy and a baby in a stroller,” said one man who was upstairs in bed watching TV.
Butler police Deputy Chief David Adam on Friday morning declined to comment about the investigation. He did say, however, no arrests have been made and no charges filed.
The overnight district judge also did not immediately sign any search warrants.
Calls on the police scanner at the time of the incident indicated that authorities were searching for a white Chrysler.
Boulanger, like her other neighbors, is curious about the investigation. The neighborhood is itching for answers to obvious questions.
