Portersville man arraigned on attempted homicide
A Portersville man was formally arraigned in Butler County Court on Tuesday on attempted homicide charges, after allegedly shooting another man during an argument over a vehicle.
Paul J. Harper, 70, was formally arraigned on charges of felony attempted homicide, aggravated assault and two misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person in county Judge William Shaffer's courtroom.
He is now scheduled for a status conference on Oct. 16, call of the list on Nov, 29 and jury selection on Nov. 30.
Harper was charged after an incident at 10:30 p.m. July 3 in Muddy Creek Township. Pennsylvania State Police say Harper allegedly went to the residence of Christopher and Debra Galbreath with a shotgun and shot Christopher Galbreath in the arm.
He currently remains held without bail in the Butler County Prison, after bail was initially set at $250,000, but was later revoked after allegedly making statements that if let out of jail, he would finish the job.
