The three Butler County Commissioners will take a ride to Pittsburgh on Thursday morning on the Butler Transit Authority's bus to observe the route and hear the concerns of the riders who work on Route 8 or Route 28.

Those riders, Commissioner Leslie Osche said on Wednesday, said the former route by A.J. Myers and Sons went south on Route 8 from Butler all the way to Route 28 in Etna before heading toward Pittsburgh.

The new route by the Butler Transit Authority travels south on Route 8 to Route 228 West and accesses Pittsburgh via interstates 79 and 279, leaving those who work on Route 8 south of Route 228 West without transportation.

Osche said the commissioners have received emails about the problem “from about every rider on the bus.”

The commissioners will then decide what to do about the route concerns.
