The Safe2Say Something program, a violence prevention program which was rolled out in January in all 500 school districts in the state, has been well received at the South Butler School District.

Students in grades 6 through 12 received training from South Butler school police regarding how to report a potential threat or other incidents anonymously by using the Safe2Say Something app, tip line or online form.

The students were also informed on what type of situations should be reported.

The district has had 25 tips reported by students and parents so far, said Pat Sarnese, the district's director of school police and transportation.
