PORTERSVILLE — The Presbyterian Church of Portersville, 1297 Perry Highway, opens its bicentennial year celebrations Sunday by hosting Johnathan Watt, a professor at Geneva College teaching biblical studies, English, Greek, linguistics, anthropology, sociolinguistics, history and religious ministry at its 11 a.m. worship service.

A reservation-only catered luncheon will follow.

The service and luncheon mark the beginning of the church’s celebration of its Oct. 13, 1820, founding which will culminate in the Bicentennial Year Closing Celebration Oct. 10, 2021.
