Morning commuters in Butler and Armstrong counties beware: freezing rain could be hazardous to your driving.

The icy conditions have caused most school districts in Butler County to operate on two-hour delay, including Butler, Butler Catholic, Karns City, Moniteau, Slippery Rock and South Butler.

The Butler County Community College main campus and all sites are opening ‪at 9:30 a.m.‬

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh is warning that a light glaze of ice is possible on untreated roads, bridges and overpasses as you head to work or for errands.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving early this morning and be aware of the potential for slick conditions. The threat will dissipate as temperatures climb.

This is also a flood watch is in effect for Butler County and much of Western Pennsylvania.

The weather service issued the advisory that runs through late tonight. The total rainfall is expected to between 1½ to 2 inches.

Flooding could occur because of the continued rain combined with the already saturated ground and swollen rivers, and streams.

Today's high could hit 42. The rain will continue until about ‪1 a.m. Wednesday when the precipitation will likely turn to snow. Any accumulation will be less than a half inch.

Strong winds are expected early ‪Wednesday morning and throughout the day with gusts approaching 45 mph.
