Alameda Waterpark opening set back again
BUTLER TWP — Alameda Waterpark will be opening up even later than initially expected.
It now will open Monday at noon in Alameda Park.
Gary Pinkerton, Butler County parks and recreation director, told the county commissioners Wednesday the park will not open Thursday as expected because of delays in construction.
Pinkerton said poor weather a couple of weeks ago delayed some plastering work.
About $1.1 million in renovations are taking place at the park, including replacing about 1,060 square feet of concrete to replace a major pipe beneath the pool, as well as the additions of splash pads and other amenities.
The pool will closed Labor Day.
