The Moniteau School Board is poised to promote from within to hire a new superintendent at its meeting Monday.

The meeting agenda posted Friday on the district’s website includes a recommendation to appoint Aubrie Schnelle as superintendent at a prorated annual salary of $130,000 effective from Nov. 6 through June 30, 2024.

Schnelle’s current position in the district is assistant principal of the junior-senior high school, according to the district’s website.

If hired, Schnelle would replace Tom Samosky, who has been superintendent since early 2020. The board accepted his resignation in September.

Samosky, who cited personal reasons for leaving, has accepted a job as superintendent of Fort Cherry School District in Washington County.
