Michael Hayman and Robertta Black

An Oct. 17 wedding is being planned by Robertta Black and Michael Hayman, both of Newark, Del.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Clifford and Patty Black of Cabot. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are William Hayman of Newark, Del., and the late Virginia Hayman.

The bride-elect is a 1997 graduate of Somerville High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Delaware, where she received a degree in fashion merchandising. She is employed by Luxottica Retail in Wilmington, Del.

Her fiance graduated in 1999 from Christiana High School and in 2003 from the University of Delaware with a degree in criminal justice and sociology. He is employed by the City of Wilmington Police Department.
