Butler government declared a state of emergency for five days following Wednesday night's flooding; the state of emergency could last as long as 30 days.

An after-dark curfew was instituted for the affected areas.

Five large green trash boxes are expected to be available Friday morning for people living in the flood-damaged neighborhoods.

First United Methodist Church will accept donations to offer people personal hygiene products.

The American Red Cross will provide shelter for people who need it at First English Lutheran Church.

“There is imminent danger of more flooding in this area, which endangers life, as a result of which emergency repairs are necessary to preserve life, health and property,” according to a city news release.

A full report will appear in tomorrow's Butler Eagle.
