Crowd turns out for food, art at Foxburg
FOXBURG — The 17th annual Foxburg Food, Art and Wine Festival kicked off the fall season Saturday and Sunday.
The event featured a clam bake hosted at the Allegheny Grille and a concert at Lincoln Hall by Butler native Shane Alexander, an internationally renowned singer, songwriter and recording artist.
“The festival has a very specific purpose: to introduce and bring people together from all over Western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio to all that Foxburg has to offer,” said Jim Marron, president of the Foxburg Chamber of Commerce.
This normally quiet village, came alive with a crowd of people and a bustle of activity, which included a variety of food vendors, artisans, and crafters.
By the end of the day, Marron estimated 4,000 to 5,000 people attended the festival.
Hungry patrons sampled fare at the Allegheny Grille and Foxburg Pizza, sweet treats from Divani Chocolatier and Barista, and wine tasting at Foxburg Wine Cellars.
The Red Brick Inn offered a shopping experience for those seeking vintage and antique items, as well as a choice of artwork that covers many genres.
“All of the businesses and vendors work very hard together to provide an excellent festival experience for everyone,” Marron said.
“This has been a very busy year. With COVID restrictions lifted, people were excited this year to be able to relax by the river and enjoy the festival and live entertainment.”
Live music was provided by Max Schang Band, Richard Eustice Band and Sam Sears, under the tent at the Allegheny Grille.
Next year's festival is set for Oct. 9.
