Motorcyclist injured in Friday wreck

WASHINGTON TWP — A northern Butler County man suffered a possible head injury Friday evening after crashing his motorcycle on Branchton Road, according to authorities.

Stephen V. Dombeck, 29, of Slippery Rock, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment following the wreck, which occurred about 6:15 p.m. His condition was not available Saturday.

State police said Dombeck was driving east just north of Higgins Road when he lost control of his 1994 Suzuki Intruder going around a curve.

The motorcycle rolled onto its side.

The bike slid on the pavement and ended off the north side of Branchton Road. Police said Dombeck was not wearing a helmet.

Eau Claire volunteer firefighters and a crew from Karns City Regional Ambulance assisted in the call.

A STAT MedEvac helicopter flew Dombeck to UPMC Presbyterian.

Authorities did not know the extent of Dombeck's injuries.
