BOSTON — Seneca Valley graduate Kevan Smith, back in Major League Baseball with the Chicago White Sox this week, scored the game-winning run as the White Sox blanked the Boston Red Sox, 1-0, Friday night.

Smith had two hits and scored the only run after leading off the seventh with a ground-rule double. Trayce Thompson brought him in with a one-out single to help Chicago end a six-game skid against Boston.

Smith, a catcher, is hitting .417 since his call-up.
