Dorothy Bupp

Dorothy Rebecca Rider Bupp, 92, of Harmony, peacefully passed away at her residence on Monday morning, Oct. 25, 2021.

Born Feb. 17, 1929, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Henry Alvin and Rebecca Ann Ford Rider.

Dorothy retired after 20 years working as the jury commissioner of Butler County. She had worked as a secretary for the Butler Farm Show, and was active in the Unionville Grange.

She enjoyed baking and selling wedding cakes, and baking birthday cakes and desserts for the local former Homestead Restaurant. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and watching old-time movies.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Stone Church, where she was active in the ladies committees and helped run the Strawberry Festival for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Dora (Claude) Kniess of Evans City, Michael (Deborah) Bupp of Butler and David (Autumn) Bupp of Harmony; eight grandchildren, Andrea Stauffer, Kristopher Kniess, Rebecca Dressler, Sarah Bupp, Libby Bupp, Maggie Bupp, Camille Bupp and Todd Bupp; nine great-grandchildren, Kirsten Montgomery, Cameron Stauffer, Alex Stauffer, Aden Dressler, Clayton Dressler, Owen Dressler, Oriana Kniess, Hope Kniess and Elena Kniess; two great-great-grandchildren, Aliana LaFrancois and Huxon Stauffer; and her brother, Henry Alvin (Mary Alice) Rider Jr. of Westminster, Calif.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roland Bupp, whom she married Aug. 26, 1960, and who passed away Jan. 23, 2016; and two infant brothers.

BUPP — Visitation for Dorothy Rebecca Rider Bupp, who died Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, will held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 387 Main St., Prospect.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Stone Church, 235 Stone Church Road, Harmony, with Pastor Beverly Banyay officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
